The scale of the job made this a challenging project. With panels spread across more than 60 separate rooftops, the work involved cleaning numerous individual installations throughout the site.
The panels had never been cleaned, and many had developed lichen growth that required extra attention during the clean.
Extra work to remove lichen
Removing the lichen was a significant part of the job. Affected panels required additional work to clear the growth from their surfaces as part of the wider clean.
For Orana Gardens and its residents, the clean was an important step in maintaining the site's solar panels. Removing the build-up helped sunlight reach the solar cells, supporting electricity generation from the existing systems.
